After a full summer of detours, Brealey Drive has finally reopened from Lansdowne all the way to Sherbrooke. The city’s finished up Phase 2 of the big rebuild, complete with new sidewalks, trails, and traffic lights. Smooth roads, happy suspensions — life’s good again on the west side.

Trent University just scored a $1 million grant to bring trauma-informed practices into long-term care homes. Led by Dr. Kimberly Ritchie from the Trent/Fleming School of Nursing, the four-year project will help staff better support residents living with trauma and dementia—making care homes safer and more inclusive for everyone.

Here’s a quick look ahead to some events coming 3 weeks from now.

🍻 100 Acre Brewing Co. Rolls Into Winter Hours: The seasons are changing, and so are the taps. Starting Thursday (Nov 6), 100 Acre’s open Thurs–Sat 12–8 PM and Sun 12–6 PM. Wednesdays are off the menu, but there’s still plenty of time to sip something cozy.

🥣 The Main Ingredient’s Raising the Roof: This upcoming weekend, The Main Ingredient is hosting a “Raise the Roof” community event to help fund roof repairs and keep their cozy space going strong. 🐾 Meet Big Lewie

This tall, grey charmer is as chatty as he is cuddly. Big Lewie loves head scratches, cozy naps, and showing off his best “sit” trick. He’s friendly with other cats but just as happy being your one-and-only sidekick.
