QUICK BITS

🎾 Knights of Columbus Park Getting a Glow Up

Knights of Columbus Park on Park Street North is closed this week as work begins on big upgrades including new tennis courts, better lighting, a splash pad, more trees, and a dog area. Construction on the courts wraps up next summer, with the rest finished by fall 2026.

🏭 Council Weighs GE Demolition

GE Vernova wants to tear down 25 of the 33 buildings on its 50 acre Park Street North site, but Coun. Joy Lachica is pushing for more transparency before anything happens. She’s calling for a clear plan to manage toxic dust and protect Neighbours during demolition, saying the project’s “too important for vague answers.” Council will also vote Tuesday on whether to pursue heritage protection for the old factory.
