The province just dropped $50,000 to help Peterborough host the TELUS Cup this April. Six U18 teams from across Canada are rolling in, including the hometown Minor Petes making their national debut. The city’s expecting over 1,200 hotel nights and more than $1 million pumped into local businesses.

Council spent two days digging through the 2026 budget and recommended a handful of changes. The all-in rate increase now sits at 6.56% about $28 a month for the median household trimmed down thanks to pulling an extra $3M from the Legacy Fund. They’re also sending the Police Service budget back for another look before final approval on Dec. 8.

The Peterborough Kawartha Rotary’s annual Christmas Auction is back with 189 items up for grabs until Nov. 30. Last year’s bids topped $16K, helping fund everything from Beavermead’s outdoor gym to Hospice and the Zoo’s music park. It’s an easy way to shop local and support community projects at the same time.

Happening Sunday to Tuesday from 11–4, it’s packed with handmade goods, cozy Christmas energy and plenty of gift-worthy finds from their 3K-strong community of makers.

🎶 Vocal Workshop with Brenda McMorrow: A warm, creative space to sing, play and reconnect with your voice through mantras, movement, meditation and easy-to-learn songs. No experience needed — just show up and let your sound breathe a little. 6:30 PM The Willow Studio

🎸 Road Apples – A Tribute to The Tragically Hip: A full-throttle night of Hip classics played loud, tight and with all the warm nostalgia of a band everyone in the room knows by heart. 7:30 PM Showplace Performance Centre.

🐷 Pingo: A late-night mix of bingo energy, pub chaos and all the usual Ear charm that keeps the place buzzing till close. 10 PM The Pig’s Ear Tavern.
