QUICK BITS
🚨 $427K for Crisis Teams
The province is dropping almost $427K into Peterborough’s mobile crisis response programs. Announced Friday outside the police station, the funding will give city police a third nurse-officer team and help the County OPP expand theirs too. The idea is simple: more support on mental health calls, less strain on ERs, and fewer situations where someone in crisis ends up treated like a criminal instead of a person who needs help.(Examiner$)
🚧 McFarlane Bridge Shut
The McFarlane Street Bridge is getting a fresh deck this week and will be closed off to cars, bikes, and foot traffic until Friday at 7 p.m. (Oct. 3), according to Parks Canada. Detour signs are up, with recommended crossings at Hunter East, Maria, or Parkhill. River navigation stays open during the work.

THE BORO BUSINESS
💆 Spa Day, But Make It a Party: Euphoria Wellness Spa is turning 19 and they’re throwing a Spa & Sip this Wednesday from 1–8 p.m. Picture this: mini treatments, rooftop cocktails with a DJ, gelato tastings, and even live demos of the latest beauty tricks. They’re also handing out gift bags and knocking 20% off most stuff if you feel like stocking up. Basically, it’s their birthday but we get the presents.
🧠 Counselling Connection: New PTBO Home: Three Trent psych grads turned a study-session spark into a real deal practice, and now they’ve brought it back to where it began. Eleven years after Bowmanville, they’ve opened doors in the Boro at 169 Lansdowne St with a fresh space and community-first vibes. If you’ve been meaning to talk to someone, this is your sign.
